A Caribbean Vacation
When my husband suggested that we travel to the Caribbean again I was not too keen. The last time I went here I had such a bad experience that I was sure (knowing my luck) that our trip this time would be jinxed as well. Let me tell you about what happened the last time we decided to travel. My misfortune started as soon as I landed at the airport. We had to wait for ages for our pick-up to show up. When it finally came, and we were heading towards it someone stole my purse. My purse had some important documents in it including my credit cards and i dare not travel without them. The evening was spent at the police station instead of a comfortable and luxurious hotel room.
Guess things could not get worse after that. I was mistaken. Our trip to Jamaica was a real disaster. We went to the beach in the morning and Sam, my husband, bought some eats from one of the stalls on the beach. They looked quite delicious and I was tempted into eating them. It was when I suddenly started feeling queasy and uncomfortable that we realized that the snack we had purchased had some peanuts added to them. I was allergic to peanuts and soon had trouble breathing. I had to be rushed to the hospital and spent a few days there. It was a ruined vacation as we did not travel to any other place but came back home.
After this terrible trip, whenever anyone mentioned the Caribbean I baulked at the idea. I suggested other places to them. It was only when my teenage daughter Hannah spoke about some trip that her friends had taken to the Turks and Caicos that I considered the idea. We checked a number of travel websites online and zeroed in on an all-inclusive resort. Fortunately for us this time round we had a fabulous vacation.
