Manchester Emerging as the Hub for Smaller Businesses
Avanta Managed Offices have reported a sharp increase of about more than 60% in enquiries for office space in
One among the 18 centres that Avanta manages all across the UK is the Royal Mills Centre in Manchester’s Ancoats Urban Village. Speaking about it, the manager of Avanta Offices in Manchester, Karen Brown, said that this relatively new centre that has been around for one and a half year has dedicated staff members. She went on to add that its employees are willing to take extra trouble to find their clients the best spaces according to their needs.
About the surge witnessed by Avanta by those looking to rent desk space, Brown revealed that 2009 started in much the same way as 2008, but the last couple of months saw the number of queries for temporary spaces mounting.
Brown, while explaining the reasons behind rise in queries, said that in the present economic conditions, smaller businesses are avoiding acquisition of permanent spaces. However, they are more than willing to rent flexible office spaces for some time that can reduce their operating costs. The second reason is the availability of proper workspaces at rates lower than the South East locations. This has prompted many businesses to move their bases, though temporarily in some cases, to Manchester.
